About Four Seasons

If you want to work with a company that acts in your best interests at all times, where you will never be just another client reference number, then please book an initial consultation at our cost. Simply phone or click here and ask for a free consultation.

Fees

Our charges are very competitive and in many cases aligned to results rather than high upfront costs. We are advocates of fees over commission because fees offer total transparency and eliminate any perception of bias. You may be surprised to learn fees actually work out cheaper than commission in many cases. Also, if there is a commission element it can be rebated against a fee, which could mean the surplus is returned to you.

Our Team

Ray Martin, Director

Ray has an extensive and wide-ranging practice with particular expertise in:

  • Pre-retirement Planning (pensions, SIPP's, buy to lets, investment property, business planning, investments) - See recent work below.
  • Post-retirement planning (annuities, drawdown, investment property and investments)
  • Wealth Management (ISAs, unit trusts, onshore and offshore bonds, investment property, savings accounts etc.)
  • Tax Planning (inheritance, income, capital gains and corporate tax)
  • Corporate Benefits (group protection and pensions)

Recent work includes:

  1. Pre-retirement and wealth management planning (advice) for one of the country's leading barristers. We developed an improved investment and planning strategy, with built-in yearly reviews and targets.

His tax liabilities have been greatly reduced, but the most satisfying element is the client feels less anxious and far more secure because the major adjustments made should allow him to retire earlier, with considerably more income than would have been possible before the advice was given.

He had not sought advice for many years because frankly he was too busy and did not know who to trust. A good friend recommended Four Seasons because a similar plan had been devised for him and he was happy with the results and ongoing service that we provided.
  • Obtained in excess of £30,000 compensation for a new client due to a bank's serious investment error. It will not come as any surprise that we now look after all this client's investments and pensions.

A number of clients have joined us because they have grown disillusioned with the lack of service and continuity from their bank.

  • Helped a business client to save 20% and obtain better terms on their group income protection policy i.e. a saving in excess of £10,000.

  • Reviewing all existing wealth management clients to develope a strategy to help mitigate higher rate tax, due to government budget changes.

How we work

Free initial consultation

We offer a free initial consultation of up to one hour. You can then decide whether you need to use our services and what we can offer you.

Your needs

If you decide to proceed, we then make a thorough analysis of your needs and aspirations. We will collate enough information to appraise your current situation and how they impact on your requirements.

Research

We then research a suitable recommendation using a wide variety of different sources. We will always look for the most cost effective solution from the whole market. Reducing your tax liability, changes in legislation and how our recommendation will impact on your other needs are factors that we always take into account.

Recommendation and report

We will then present our recommendation to you in a clear and concise manner and will follow this up by confirmation in writing.

Reviews

Reviews are incredibly important. Put simply … things change - legislation, tax rules, fund managers, the economy and any number of other factors.

Old fashioned service using modern technology

We use modern technology as an aid to create a lifetime cash flow forecast to map out a long term plan in a similar way to how a business would. However, we do not force this on our clients, but experience has shown it is very useful in certain circumstances and clients find it easier to visualise why the recommendations have been made.

An example would be that of a client with a buy-to-let investment property, three pension schemes and a portfolio of investments who wants to know if he can afford to retire in ten years' time when he is 55. The client wishes to retain his existing standard of living, taking into account inflation. We could easily help this client using the latest technology.
